Better late than never - the last photos

Okay, so, we've been home in New Zealand for over a week now, but as a few people over that week have said how much they enjoyed the photos I'd been posting, especially of the national parks, it seems a shame not to post some pix from the parks that I was too sick to post whilst in the USA. First up, Zion National Park:

Nearly a mile long!

Snow Canyon, where we stayed with my friend Nichole in her gorgeous holiday home:

The amazing ampitheatre at Tuacahn High School for the Performing Arts

The amazing Valley of Fire ... less than half an hour from Vegas ...

The quite staggeringly amazing Hoover Dam:

VERY harrowing to drive around the corner and see these pylons on this angle!

And then, of course, Vegas. Despite being sick, I still managed to get out and see a little:

Not a bad return for $1

Being so sick in LA we didn't managed much, BUT, we did achieve this (which was awesome):
In 1981 I was 14, the movie "Roar" starring Tippi Hedren and Melanie Griffith was my favourite movie, and I was captivated by the theme song “N'Chi Ya Nani” (Whose Land is This) by Robert Florczak. This has been my FAVOURITE song ever since, even eclipsing any of Xavier Rudd’s songs for my personal #1 spot. At the time I had a cassette tape on which I recorded the song every time it came on the radio, so I could play it over and over. After 14 houses in Australia in 10 years I eventually lost the tape, so was delighted years later when YouTube came along, and I found the song on there. When I had to have Jackson euthanised a couple of years ago, this song, played 100 times (and that is NO exaggeration) on repeat play was what got me through. I wrote to Robert via YouTube to tell him how much the song meant to me, and we became friends on Facebook. And today … today we had lunch together in Los Angeles. A truly wonderful afternoon.

And finally, time to come home ... and didn't LA put on an amazing farewell for us ...

Oh, nearly forgot ... chipmunks!
