Shirley Conquers a Roller Coaster

Unintentionally, I might point out. We went on Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom, thinking it would be similar to the Gold Mine cart ride they have at Magic Kingdom, and probably no scarier than Splash Mountain. Bwa ha ha h- WRONG! Poor Mum nearly had a heart attack, and I wasn't far behind. But we survived. I've just watched it on YouTube, and it looks failry mild on screen. It's not.

Animal Kingdom is by far and above the most amazing wildlife park I've ver been to. The Kilimanjaro Safari, that we did twice, essentially condenses a two-week African Safari into 20 minutes, and the animal "enclosures" are the best of any I've seen. The only thing that gives it away as being in Florida is the Spanish moss hanging from all the trees. A brilliant day. Oh, aside from getting SOAKED on the  Kali River Rapids at 10am, and not drying out till about 5.45pm. Fun though.

Today we're putting The Holy Land Experience in as a buffer before subjecting mother to more rides tomorrow at Islands of Adventure :)

  1. Thanks for the photos, excellent. I loved the "yin-yang" hippos and the rhino kaffeeklatsch... :-)
