Totally rolled a snowmobile with Mum on the back!

THE BEST DAY OF THE TRIP SO FAR, and one of my best days ever. We stayed over night in a gorgeous Pando Cabin at Camp Hale, in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. I met a couple of Colorado lads last year in Waihi and gave them a lift to the Xavier Rudd concert, then sent them to papmoa for a week where they camped on a friend's lawn. Before leaving NZ, Nate and Luiz were determined to give me a goodbye hug on their dash from Wellington to Auckland to catch their plane (barrier came down behind them) so I had to return the favour and go and visit them. We spent a morning with Luiz in Denver, where we saw a deer wandering down the street, and spotted a kiwi on the wall of the Walnut Street Cafe, where we had lunch, before heading into the mountains.

Nate's Dad owns Nova Guides so Nate was able to get us a good deal on a "log cabin" (which turned out to be a Log Mansion!!!) and a trip up to the highest peak in the Rockies on a snowmobile, which I drove. This experience totally blitzed anything that Universal, with it's $256 million Harry Potter Park, had given us. As grand as some of man's accomplishment's are, nothing comes even close to the majestic beauty that nature has created, and for two Kiwis, the vastness of the area was simply breath-taking.

  1. Super pictures to match a super experience! I especially liked Ferhard's snow angel, the two of you on the ski-doo, and you with the big cowboy...
